Bistro Bohem was conceived & developed by Jarek Mika along with his team of designers, chefs, mixologists and friends. All local residents with a passion for food, design and desire a quality comfortable hangout will love the new addition to the neighborhood. The Bistro reflects Jarek’s, Czechoslovakian heritage, his culinary experience and strong sense of commitment to the community.

Jarek - Our fearless leader

Jarek, born in Czech republic, studied in North Carolina, moved to Washington DC to pursue his banking career and settled down in DC.   Through his passion for food, Jarek left banking and became chef and restaurant owner who know focuses mainly on running the Bistro and Kafe Bohem, both of which opened in 2012.
Jarek loves cooking as well as eating great food but also practices a lot of yoga and travels all over the world.  As  a matter of fact, if you don’t find him here, he is likely across the pond some place fun.

 

Daniel was born and raised in Czech, and lived in Munich and Vienna for years. He Loves to travel and enjoys the wild outdoors. He catches animals with his bare hands, and drinks Slivovice (Czech Plum Brandy) like it’s water.

 

Olinka

 

Petra is originally from the Czech Republic. She was born in a small town Susice close to Pilsen, where the best Czech beer – Pilsner Urquell – is made! She has been in the USA for almost three years. She loves good food, art, photography, dancing, traveling and her bike. If you want to practice your Czech, she is the one to ask! :)

 

Jess was born in Germany, raised in Iowa, and spent most of her life in Austin, Texas. She played college volleyball, and studied neuroscience & philosophy. She’s addicted to travel & glitter, and obsessed with Technology & Art.

 

Erin is from Pennsylvania, lived in Miami and New York, and now resides in DC. She’s deeps in the music scene, and dapples into IT. She fosters adorable kittens, so come talk to her if your interested in adopting.

 

Chef Robin

 

 

Darinka was born in born and raised in Czech republic. After graduating, she decided to start traveling all over the world. She’s worked on cruise ship, lived in Maldives for 2 years & Greece for 3 years. She loves outdoor sports and teaches Pilates & Yoga in DC.
